Based on SI.com/cbb and it's unique statistical formula, here's how Marquette stacks up against the other schools on its schedule heading into the 2015-16 season.
Note: There are 351 NCAA Division I schools in 2015-16 and SI ranked all 351 teams based on its statistical formula. Seven of MU's non-league games this season are scheduled against teams ranked above 300, which obviously will hindered MU's RPI. In order to overcome that drawback, Marquette must do well in its 5 non-league games against quality opponents, i.e., Belmont, Arizona State/North Carolina State, LSU, Iowa, Wisconsin.
351. Grambling State
349. San Jose State
345. Stetson
337. Maine
318. Presbyterian
317. Chicago State
304. Jackson State
219. IUPUI
143. DePaul
130. St. John's
96. Belmont
81. Creighton
80. Seton Hall
79. Providence
75. Arizona State
54. Iowa
46. MARQUETTE
39. North Carolina State
36. Butler
