Just got back from the annual pre-season BB luncheon at the Pfister Hotel. Interesting format this year. Also had women's coach Carolyn Kieger as well as, obviously, Wojo. Instead of having the coach(es) give a presentation, the format involved an interview process with FS-WI sports reporter Sophia Minnaert interviewing each coach. A nice format. Still get the usual coach-speak, but at least we hear the questions that folks are interested in. Wojo spoke to recruiting saying it will be nice to be able to name the 2 guys we are signing for next year. The way he said it, perhaps Bailey is coming right away...? Probably not, but it was interesting how he said that. Who knows?

Did you get an idea of how Wojo was feeling about the team?

He thinks when they "get it," they can be really good.

It was mentioned earlier that Bailey was signing and going on his mission. So this isn't inconsistent with that.

He is excited, but also realistic that this is a very young and inexperienced team. Talked about each of the players ending with Henry and saying that Henry is really good. Then joked that Henry should redshirt. Talked about the Stanford scrimmage noting that the team looked like world beaters at times and then looked like they were lost. Emphasized that the team needs a good start as the the front end of the schedule is tough. Noted that everyone is capable of starting and he could have different starting lineups to take advantage of matchups. Wants every guy to view himself as a starter, especially the perimeter guys as that is where the team is deepest.

Understand that.

Sounds like the same format as the Chicago Coaches Luncheon for the past two years.
