I definitely feel this is the biggest recruiting win for Wojo so far. Ellenson was a bigger name get and may be more significant to the program over time, but that was a downhill recruitment, in that there was so much on Wojo's side. John played here, Wally was here, Nick was committed, in-state program, it all lined up for Henry. In addition, Wojo started working the Ellenson angle as soon as he got to town and earned a commitment after 8 months.

This commit was very impressive. It took Wojo 6 weeks to go from not in the picture to committed. He went up against the defending national champs in UConn with a former NBA PG as coach that are losing a senior PG, against a great recruiter that is becoming a NCAA regular in Gottfried at NC State, and against established programs like Xavier, Memphis, and La Salle, all of which are closer to home than Marquette.

Managing to work in Carter's uncle, Rasual Butler, and NBA stud PG John Wall shows how deep Wojo's contacts run, and having a staff that is both young but also experienced at the position should ensure PG is a strength in the future.

This was very much an uphill recruitment, and Wojo charged up the hill quickly and got the guy he wanted. Can't wait to see Traci in the blue and gold!

Not often you have the opportunity to offer a freshman the chance to run your team, but the chance is there. No question that Carter needs to come in and earn it, nothing will be given to him, but he sounds like the kind of kid that will fight for it.

Can't be more excited about this recruiting class, especially Carter as true PGs are so critical in college hoops and here is a big time player that can really help this team sooner than later.

Sounds great. Maybe Wojo's nickname should be the closer.
