There has been discussion on all boards about the size of the crowds at games this season as well as the actions/noise of the fan base. Most of it has been critical due in large part to the lack of success on the court.

Last week, I went to the Creighton/MU game in Omaha and was shocked.

Shocked because we have heard about the great fan base, support, knowledge etc of the Blue Jay fans and yet, there were many empty seats for the game and the student section was pretty light as well. On top of that, with about 3 minutes to go and the Blue Jays winning, fans started to leave! With about 30 seconds to go there may have been 2000 people left in their seats.

So it just goes to show you that the bottom line is winning. If the Creighton fans who have a sterling reputation are acting like this, it is no wonder we are experiencing similar things at the Bradley Center this season.

Yes, those empty seats could be seen on TV. Always have fair-weather fans.

Be interesting to see how many pompous Creighton fans show up for the Big East tourney this year. Last season was the perfect storm for them. Easy to travel to follow a front runner. Let's see how many show up in NYC in March. My bet is not many.

Gato78 correctly described them as rubes whose rural high school makes State and don't know how to act in the "big city". Still would have liked to see them interact with Cuse fans.

Still a paid crowd of 17,248. Pretty impressive

Geez, we are in no position to talk. Last weekend was dead at the Bradley Center.

Just goes to show that for all the crowd support, fans turn out for a winner. We're not alone in that regard.

Going to be interesting to see what the actual student turnout is today for the Nova game.

I think you are missing the point of this thread.
