Slightly random post, but I bet Fox is kicking themselves.

Big miss for fs1 but probably good for the Big East, right?

Not really a miss as Fox sells rights to CBS and CBSSN.

Are those rights sold prior to the start of season?
Are those rights sold prior to the start of season?
Yes, I believe so.

That's what I thought. So Nuk, I'm guessing op's point was that fs1 sold the game for pennies on the dollar (in comparison to what they could sell it for now) since it was done prior to the season start and prior to Butler being so highly ranked.

I'm guessing Fox would rather broadcast the big game rather than have a few bucks in the pocket.
Remember, FS1 did also land the St. John's - Duke game for K's big night, so it goes both ways. .

That game did not look so "big" when the rights were sold. Win some, lose some.

Sublicense deals are done all the time. That is what CBSSN lives on and it works great for them. The deal with CBS/CBSSN is for 5 years which started last year. That is why the Wisconsin at Marquette game was on CBS.

As I noted in the third post in this thread.I notice your post. Good job! Others seem to not as games go in a picking order.
