I know people think that next year will be a rebuilding year too, but we're going to be good. With the exception of Derrick, look at the length that we have out there right now.

Trading 2s for 3s and Derrick misses front end of 2 bonus situations.

With Carlino out, MU can play more man defense.
Need to get better at free throw line.

I thought we were going to flop a lot. Guess Wojo wasn't the mastermind for that at Duke.

Defense difficult now with 2 fouls on Luke and Steve. Juan playin hard, but not smart at times.

JJJ needs to have his shot mechanics changed. Similar to Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Mark Price has helped Gilchrist remove the hitch in his shot. JJJ will never shoot a consistently good % with his current form.

Duane with another missed layup. Really needs to go strong and use that backboard...

That is the part of the game that comes naturally for JJ. He has a little McNeal in him the way he can slash and get to the basket. Just needs to change his shot.

With all that length out there, it's easy to see why our defense is better. Without Carlino, our defense is better but we struggle to score in the half court. Defense and our transition game needs to stay strong.

JJ played really inspired and smart in the first half....everybody seemed to have really good energy.......Duane made good decisions and didn't force shots.....still needs to finish his layups better....I also thought Duane was really good in the man to man on D. Free throw shooting terrible on both sides.
Foul trouble could be an issue in 2nd half.
Terrible offensive goaltending call on Derrick cost us 2 points

Yep. Need to totally revamp that shot and start from scratch.

Ball needs to be in the middle of the floor when going two on one. MU has been doing this all year.

It wasn't easy....ugly at times....but really proud of the guys.....great effort.....huge games from Taylor and JJ......2 big free throws from Duane in the clutch
Definitely more fire today......Hard to win a game when you only make 1 three pointer and shoot as badly as we did from the free throw line.

If anything, JJ and Taylor needed a game like this for their confidence, even if Seton Hall's poor defense contributed to their ability to score at times.

Thought about that as well, but MU wins always come first. Syracuse ineligible for postseason play and a lot of bubble teams not doing so well will allow them to make up for it. This was Seton Hall's first bad loss, they did not have any really in nonconference play.

Problem for SH is that they have a tough stretch coming up which will give them quite a few more losses in all likelihood.
but if they miss the tournament becausee MU beat them I'm ok with that........

Has a team ever won a game before making 1 jump shot?
MU made 1 on Saturday(Duane's 3)...all the rest were layups and free throws.....and 1 or 2 jump hooks.

While Seton Hall's remaining schedule is rough, they did give Villanova 1 of their 2 overall losses. Losses in nonconference were @Wichita State and @Georgia. They won the tourney they were in during Thanksgiving week. MU is their only bad loss. Plenty of bubble teams with more than 1 bad loss and weaker resumes than Seton Hall. Also, the RPI strength of the Big East will help.
