No respect - ZERO NBA scouts in the house today.
Geezus does Henry stick out in the crowd.
Wes Matthews in the house with what appears to be two of his coaches.
Just the way their bigs are playing defensively, Luke should have his way today. If he doesn't get close to 20 pts today then MU's guards aren't doing enough to get him the ball. Should be a big game for Luke.
Early stat tidbits....
MU had given Butler 6 2nd chance points. WAY too many this early.
Butler has more offensive rebounds than MU has total (5-4)
Overall rebounds Butler 11-4.

Luke needs to get stronger...just doesn't finish like he needs to
Looking at his build he has the muscle, just wonder if it is something psychological or is his shoulder hampering him?

This is how Jajuan will earn minutes. Much better defensive effort, smart passing, and looking to get into the lane rather than jacking threes.

MU missing lots of shots near the rim.....man to man d has let Barlow all the way to the rim twice for lay ups....playing hard but getting beat up on the boards
Stat time... at the 3:56 mark -
Butler outrebounding MU 19-11, Butler up to 8 on the offensive end.
MU with 3 turnovers but have forcd 4 on Butler.

Jajuan's effort has been much much better. Need him to log meaningful minutes.
MU missing lots of shots near the rim.....
I read your post as Luke puts one off of the front of the rim.

Another layup missed by Luke....ugh
On the scoreboard the Misix stat of the game was that Butler is currently 2-4 when the opponent shoots over 40%, and that MU was shooting 47% at home this year.
MU currently shooting 33.3% from field.

How does MU let Chrabascz score 9 points? The guy looks like a Horizon league bench player.

He looks like an offensive lineman, surprised he was Rhode Island player of the year in high school.

Chrabacz is killing MU...just out tough us down low....Jones has done nothing and still behind by 3. Good D for the most part...offensively challenged again.

Like to Steve and Luke get some run together so we have a little more beef to match Chrabascz.

Rebounds: Butler 23, Marquette 15. Bulldogs have just six second-chance points off their eight offensive rebounds. #mubb

MU getting killed by a 6'7 PF - Chrabacz with 13 at half - pitiful.
Over the years various NBA players have come to games and sat in the usual seats and never moved at the half. Not Wesley, he sat in the seat but at the half went to the side of the court and spent the entire halftime signing autographs and taking pictures. Pure class.
Briefly spoke to Henry at the half. Really excited to be a McDonald's All American. Said MU is hanging in there and that he really likes the way they fight. He agreed with me that they just need a 6'11 3-4 combo to get things right.
Bob Diener in the house.

Any Dick Strong sightings lately or has he bailed out?
MU shooting 77.8% from field in the second half. Have improved game number to 43.2%. Need to keep that up!
Mu still at 6 turnovers for the game. Seems like more, but need to keep it under 10.
Shooting has fallen off. At the 11:46 MU was shooting 77.8% for the 2nd half (7-9). That has dropped to 47.1% (8-17).
Any idea what happened to Juan? No replays here in the BC. Seems out of it, did he take a shot to the head?
They are taking Juan to the locker room. Trainer took him right to Dr. Maccoux, who immediately took him to the locker room. Concussion I'm guessing?

MU losing their poise.......
Not just Luke - they keep moving him around. Everyone has had a chance to defend him/stop him, nobody can. There are guys that just look like they are basketball players. Then there are guys like Chrabacz who doesn't look the part but can just flat out play.
I can't handle another overtime game.

Cannot afford to play the stall game so early. Now, Wojo is definitely not alone in that, but a ten point lead is not insurmountable with 4 minutes left. This is a good season for him to grow and learn lessons to apply to future seasons.

Unless the ball is in Duane's hands, our offense all game long is stall. That said, in addition to Wojo learning lessons, I'd like to see players that have a chance to be here next year get big minutes and learn lessons.

Why would any recruits be in the house? Think about it, most of the top prospects played last night or play today and there is a winter storm coming in.
Tough year. Lose most of the close games and you don't have any depth.

Am I nuts or did the Butler coaches T win this game? The refs completely changed the way they were calling the game after that, allowing Butler to close gap with clock stopped. They were letting them play until then.

This January, I've seen enough failed stall offenses (in two sports) to last the next ten years. All but two guys shut it down on offense in last four minutes..that is just too easy to defend.

I am struggling with the suggestion that Wojo directed them to run clock. I think it is more an execution issue that left them with bad/defended/late clock shots, not Wojo telling them to dribble around aimlessly for 30 seconds.

I will say that there were a lot of last second possessions in the first 36 minutes. Bottom line is that everyone is growing this year and most objective signs look very positive long term.

I don't think the refs had anything to do with it. MU was out-coached and out-played the last four minutes of that game.

Wojo was simply outcoached here, though those pesky offensive rebounds did not help. Seniors really need to come up big in games like this. Alas, that was not the case. It was a tough one today at the BC, we move on.

I thought it more changed how Butler played. They were more effective at both ends. It was a turning point, and our guys certainly didn't execute, but while there were calls I didn't agree with the refs weren't the difference in the game.

The elephant in the room keeps getting ignored for some reason. At best, in close late game situations, we are going 4 on 5 offensively. It begins and ends there when the defense tightens up.

We are just not good enough.....it is really that simple.
It isn't any 1 player's fault.
ps The elephant guarded Jones and held him to 1-12 from the floor.

Agree. We just are not good enough. The team does not have a closer, the guy who wants the ball and can create his own shot. It's not a depth issue. Butler played 8, so did we. Los of teams play only 8. Fact is, our 8 are incomplete. They try hard, no question about that.
It is not the players fault, they are who they are. It is not a Wojo issue, as some simpletons on other boards claim. We just do not have the horses. Unfortunately, MU may be sitting home for a second straight season. At this point, we will struggle to get an NIT bid.

On more than one occasion, I wanted Wojo to take a T this season. Not sure why giving the opposing team 2 FTs and the ball sometimes seem to motivate the team, but today it clearly worked for Butler.

Though one of the killers was missed late bunnies in regulation. Seems Duane was responsible for at least 1-2 of those.
