I've been thinking 9-9 since the start of the year and am now leaning toward 8-10, because of the strength of the conference, but I'll go with:

9-9

I will go with 10-8.

Unfortunately, I'll go with 8-10. Those blue and gold tinted glasses tell me otherwise; but, reality is staring me in the face.

10-8 if we stay healthy.

I start with a 9-9 record, winning all home games and losing all road contests. Add a win at DePaul and a loss at home to Villanova, keeps us at 9-9.

I think we win at Butler. At Creighton is going to be a difficult task because there is a huge home court advantage there for the Jays. I think a win at X is a possibility as well. Home to STJ is also a difficult one as we they are a bad match up for us. My hope there is that Lavin has the boys playing poor undisciplined basketball and we come out with a win.

All in all, I go with a 10-8 record on the optimistic side, but think 9-9 might be the reality.

I think 9-9 is reasonable if we have no injuries. If we lose @ DePaul, then I think under .500 is likely as I do not believe we will win every home game. Quite honestly, if we can't beat DePaul then I think we could be in for a very rough ride.

11-7 with a win today. 9-9 with a loss. Important to get the first one.

8-10, this league is really good and we are short experience and sheer depth. Make a big jump in the standings next year.

12-6. Confidence will grow with experience.

8-10...but after this DePaul game I'm questioning even that

Make that 7-11 now.....we just lost to the worst team in the conference after leading by 12 in the 2nd half

Yeah, I will probably drop my prediction down one game to 7-11, though a hot Carlino/Duane Wilson night may create an equally puzzling result the other way.

11-7. They played well on the road but just fell apart against a team that has played MU tough the last few years. Poor shooting, turnovers, road game....just a bad mix. I think they will be fine and come out strong Saturday. Long season and can't give up quite yet.

I like your spirit and I agree... one game at a time. Still like this group. Just a learning curve.

Love our guys and our coach, but there are missing pieces here. Unfortunately (again), I'm changing to 6-10. :( (PS, really really need a PG for next year. Can Duane and Nick fill the bill?).

6-10 sounds right, which two games should we refuse to play on our Sched? (Yes I am a smartass)

I don't think Duane is the answer at PG. He is careless with the ball. Wojo may have to hit the Juco circuit to pick up someone with experience. I don't see him being comfortable with a freshman PG.

Perhaps a decent graduate transfer will pop up that wants to go to MU, but I'm not going to hold my breath on that possibility. ( How about a foreign guy?).

I think Duane is going to be more than fine - I think he is our best option at the point my far right now - not even close in my book. He's not even halfway through his red-shirt freshman year after all. He can drive and dish or close the deal himself. Does he need to clean things up a bit - yes, but again, IMO, he is the clear cut best option right now.

They all don't start, but I like these guys getting starter minutes - Duane, Matt, JJJ, Luke, Juan.

When the recruiting is done, and next season starts, Duane may be our best option at point guard. You have to plan for what you have, not what you hope to have.

VSYep. And Duane and Nick are what we have. Don't know if Cheatham will be able to help out there?

I think Duane can be a solid point guard by next year. His role this year is basically as PG3 on a team with two senior points. He can be a little loose with the handle, but a year's seasoning should help sort that out. He still has a decent A/T ratio (29/22) considering he's being asked to play more as a 2/3 most of the time.

Looking ahead, a starting 5 with Duane, Jajuan, Ellenson, and Fischer at four of the positions gives me a lot of confidence. Not sure who else will emerge, but this team could be very fun, especially if they can add a grad transfer or JUCO that can contribute immediately.
