That thrashing of VCU last night was pretty awesome.

For as much as I wanted Shaka (almost for cosmetic reasons as much as basketball ones), I have always believed Havoc to be a one trick pony that is succeptible to smart guards carving it up. As of now, Shaka has been unable to adjust to Havoc not working. The Nova game last night and the Michigan game in the 2013 tourney are prime examples of its weakness, and VCU has yet to be consistent enough to win a regular season conference title.

I also wanted Shaka, but could you imagine this team trying to play Havoc? It would be chaos ;)

The new defensive rules last near have taken a real bite out of Havoc.

Nice comeback for Villanova in beating Michigan! Game of the year, so far. ESPN crew says the Big East continues to pour it on!

The good news is that outside of Nova, most of these teams are young and should be better going forward. Love the collection of well coached, well run programs. Hope for St. John's and DePaul to make the coaching changes necessary to compete with the rest of the league.

Nova was up 13, then down 8, then won it in the last minute.
ESPN also stated Michigan just list to the best of the BEast, so they should be happy ?!?

Great game and great crowd. Nova gave up a 13 point lead but pulled it out.

Nova will still have Arcidiacono, Ochefu, Ennis, Hart, Jenkins, Booth all returning who regularly play in the rotation. They will not be as good as this year, losing Pinkston and Hilliard, but Jay has 5-star Jalen Brunson coming in next year. Villanova will still be pretty good.

Nice block by Pinkston last night - yikes! Surprised it was not called a foul though - it wasn't, but seems like the refs instinctively call one on plays like that.

Did anyone see Beilein's comments after? He was whining because ESPN moved the tip-off back 15 minutes and his players had class at 8:00 in the morning. Umm...coach, is it ESPN's fault that you agreed to play a night game on a Tuesday in the middle of the school year? How about not scheduling games 1,000 miles away from campus when your guys have am classes the next day?

Especially since they are back in class for one day...and then have four days off. Something tells me they will be fine.
