Butler has announced that head coach Brandon Miller is taking a medical leave of absence. Tough news for a program coming off a tough year.

That is terrible. That program is really struggling.

I really think LaVall Jordan would have been the better choice. They opted for continuity, but Jordan has a great recruiting reputation and they really needed to build up their talent to compete in the BE.

I wonder if that move may happen this offseason.

Timing could not be worse. Positives are Roosevelt Jones being back after injury last season along with Kellen Dunham. Butler has a chance to be better this year, but a thin margin for error. Hopefully it is a very short leave of absence.

Miller has previously taken a sabbatical in his coaching career, although I do not believe that to be medically related. Still, a mutual parting at the end of this upcoming season could be best for both parties.

Edit: The initial sabbatical and the current leave of absence do appear to be related according to Goodman

They just had one bad year, but it did sound like there fan base wanted Jordan and now Miller looks not to be one of the many good coaches from the Butker tree.
