Noticed a tweet from Mark Miller saying that former MU assnt Kyle Green had left UW-Eau Claire and was now joining the staff at Northern Iowa. Missed his departure from UW-EC. Wow, this guy has moved almost every year over the last decade.

The funny thing about Eau Claire is that when the school was an NAIA power in the early 70's, the coach Ken Anderson was quoted as saying they were hoping to move into a new 10,000 seat arena in the next few years. That article was from the 1971-72 Sports Illustrated College Basketball Issue and the same issue with the features on Jim Chones and fellow Racine native Mike Ratliff, who was a senior at Eau Claire. 40, yes 40 years later they are still playing their games at the same Zorn Arena that Ken Anderson wanted to replace.

Former Marquette player, Randy Wade transferred to Eau Claire in 1972 (?). He was an outstanding Wisconsin HS player in 1970.
By the way, Al McGuire did not block the transfer.

I think I still have that issue along with almost every issue of SI from most of the '70's through today.
The link below shows the pic from SI IIRC. I think that issue had a feature on Oral Roberts b-ball team as well.

That story by Sharos is a good one, especially where Chones describes the South Carolina fight.
