He would have burned a year of eligibility if he played even 1 game last year, which would make this season his last. Now, he gets to play the 2nd half of this season in addition to the following season. Still an odd situation, but he's not necessarily in the same position.

Had Jameel stayed till the end of the first semester and played 10 games or so, he would still be in the same position he is in now. Could have had experience which he traded for some down time and then practice time.

I don't think so.

If he would have played those ten games for MU, he wouldn't have been able to use his redshirt in 2013-14.

Had he played first semester last year he could have transferred at semester and been able to play this year second semester, but that would be it - he would be done.

Year 1 - Juco
Year 2 - Juco
Year 3 - 1st semester at MU
Year 4 - 2nd semester at ISU

By getting denied he will get 1 1/2 seasons to play.

Wonder what his reason for wanting a waiver was..... Coach hurt my feelings or I was practicing at the 5 and not the 4.

Why that is rough. I thought since he didn't play a game for MU, he could play right away in 2014-2015.

I believe he still attended school at MU for a semester and transfer rules say you must spend a year in residency at new school - he hasn't.

Yup, and he had no hardship claims either. In fact, he was going away from home.

I don't think you even have to attend for a full semester. Simply using any of your scholarship requires you to sit....TJ Taylor?

True, but he did not quit until into the semester, where Taylor left before the semester even started. Again, I do believe McKay stayed for the semester, Taylor did not.

Personally I don't think McKay should have gotten a waiver, where I do think Taylor should have - although it may have been intentional, not sure.
