Marquette is #14 and the Big East is 5th in conference rankings.

Thanks for the link, the numbers are always fascinating to me.
With UW & MU AGAIN in the top 15 in america in attendance, I've never understand why they can't get more press by tv and radio in Milwaukee. They will let you know there is almost a full house for family night game for the Packers

Great to always see MU up there!
would be interesting to see the size of the stadium for each school....have to wonder if that has much of an impact on schools with lower capacity gyms

In some cases it does like Duke and Villanova playing in smaller on-campus arenas for most of their home games. In other cases, many of the schools in the SEC and Pac-12 don't draw well and that's why the Big East was ahead of the Pac-12 and just below the SEC in average attendance.

Doubtful a school like Duke would draw much better but for rivalry games, wherein the the extra seats would go to the other schools fans. Duke is much, much more popular nationally in North Carolina. Probably no higher than 4th in overall fan support in the state behind NC, NC State and ECU (which has a huge football following and is a much bigger school). Been to an NCAA game in NC where Duke didn't sellout. While the school is nice, the town is a dump and relatively poor. Most of the area is UNC fans.
I think very few schools are limited by arena size. Gonzaga may draw more. UK may draw more. Maybe VU would do better in a bigger arena. But, Georgetown doesn't draw well in DC, a similar school with a similar history in a similar part of the country. Even Temple, a school with a very strong history, in the same town and larger, doesn't draw that well.

Well, if Villanova wants to draw better play more than 5 games in the NBA/NHL arena.
