The NFL draft used to go a lot more rounds. Quinn Buckner got drafted as well, despite the fact that he was certain to be a first round NBA pick.

I don't believe that is true. I seem to remember that Tom Copa, who was a HS AA Tight End in football, was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys. Not sure if it was the actual draft or supplemental draft but I do remember him being drafted.

I think Copa, like Artie Green, worked out for some NFL teams but was not drafted.
