After everything we read, during the MU coaching search, I didn't see any way that Martin could stay at UT. Happy for him and hope he has a great career at Cal.

They've never had the sustained success they've experienced in this, their Golden age. And yet, they haven't really been able to distinguish themselves as the superior program vis a vis Marquette. The NCAA tournament results are marginally n their favor since 99. But their "moment" will most certainly end when Ryan retires in the near future. Marquette has learned to adapt to the present reality, when most every job in the country is a "stepping stone" of one sort or the other. Will Wisc after bo leaves?

FWIW, Idrissa Diallo, a 3-star center that was committed to Cal, is supposedly interested in reopening his recruitment. The kid had interest from Louisville and Indiana, so despite being a Cali player, he at least seemed to entertain the notion of heading east. Might be worth a look for Wojo and company.
