How was his relationship with Buzz? I know they had that awkward, kind of weird dust up on air a few years ago. Was that water under the bridge and they were totally cool from there on in?

That keeps getting brought up. The person who was the least freaked out by it was McIlvaine, who described it the following day as "no big deal." He took it for exactly what it was. A young coach who was still fired up after a close and emotional game going off the handle. Buzz walked into the media room and the first thing he said was that he owed an apology to Mac. He appeared on Homer's radio show on Tuesday and the first thing he did was apologize to him. Mac's response was "no harm, no foul." Mac knows what games are like, and knows how emotional coaches can get, so he just waved it off.

Mac and Buzz were fine. Not exactly best pals, but Buzz wasn't exactly best pals with anyone.

I think what it was, was that Buzz completely misinterpreted what was a simple question from Mac.
