@AndrewGruman: Deonte Burton also said this doesn't have any impact on his status at Marquette. Says he's staying. #mubb

Hope the same holds true for Duane, JJJ, Dawson, and Taylor. In a strange way, maybe Buzz's departure actually improves the odds of some of them staying.

So Buzz called a meeting to announce his departure but the meeting was scheduled to start 20 minutes after this broke on ESPN. I'm hoping the players have a sour taste in their mouths and stokes those competitive fires.

I agree. Was there a disconnect between the assistants and buzz ? Seems they had conflicting views on things.

Worst news all year. Goodluck to Buzz tho. Appreciate everything he did for me while he was here. Glad he gave me an opportunity here.

Sigining Fischer and Redshirting Duane may have been the best thing he could have done. I doubt either would want to transfer and sit out another year.

Duane, Deonte, and Luke is one hell of a base for a new coach to build off of... That has to be appealing to someone for sure

That's good to see, but Buzz and TC weren't going anywhere either...until they did.

Buzz and TC don't have to sit out a year when they leave.

and Buzz and TC weren't born and raised in Milwaukee....Milwaukee wasn't the only home either of them had ever known....

I don't recall their similar tweets. Could you paste those for me, please?
Hope Todd Smith, Ernest and the academic staff remain at MU.
I know Trice has been at MU since Crean. Was Todd from before Crean too?

I believe Todd was here when Crean left. Jade Whatshisname went somewhere else, Auburn, I think. We'll see, but strength and conditioning is such a big deal these days that any head coach is going to find someone good to do it. I love the guys we have, but I am sure there are others who can do the job.

No. Crean brought in Scott Holsopple. I recall him being there as far back as the Great Alaskan Shootout years.

Have your groin muscles recovered from the squats he made you do in Anchorage?

I recovered quite nicely, but Brian Rourke still needs to use two hands to hold a cup of water to this day! :p
