In all my years of following basketball, I never put it together that the coach Mike Woodson was the Mike Woodson that played for IU.

He graduated my year - I remember his sweet jumper the most.
I can not believe that the IU folks are circling the wagons already.

...and I don't picture Woodson being an enthusiastic recruiter.

I think his buyout is somewhere around 18 million this year, but goes down to 1 or 2 million after two more seasons. That is when he will be fired. Unless some booster wants to pony up 18 million.

Mark Cuban spends that on toilet paper.

Completely ridiculous. They were a #1 seed in the tournament last year and made the Sweet 16! Who the hell would ever want to coach at high level college, the expectations are out of control.

Oh, I can. That is one of the drawbacks of a program like IU. Especially if you are an "outsider".

He should probably see a gastrointestinal specialist.
I figured Crean would get at least another year before firing. I figure his seat is hot though.

I think Crean would be wise to investigate his options after the season and find a nice landing spot similar to Steve Alford going from Iowa to New Mexico. On Indiana's end, they should hold tight until Brad Stevens gets disillusioned with the NBA. Stevens is the long term answer there, and pitching Crean now would lead to another mistake (I do nit envision Woodson as a college coach in the least).

Woodson is an NBA lifer. He is about to turn 56. Doubt he would go to the college game at this point.

This is why I think it would be a huge mistake for Buzz to go to a blue blood at any point. The little bit of criticism he gets on the boards here is nothing compared to what he'd get there after 15 point wins and Sweet 16's. Not sure he'd enjoy coaching around that type of "noise."

Not at all. This is the perfect place for Buzz. A program with the resources and commitment to win at a very high level (as long as Fr. P and company never returns), with essentially a lifetime contract barring off the court incidents. Our little segment of crazy fans has no actual sway, whereas the crazies also have power at many of the blue-bloods.
