Must have been in the works for some time to have Cords lined up already. Hopefully they will consider Broeker.

Time for Broeker. There is no other candidate in the country better qualified to run MU athletics.
Agree on both points. Mike Broeker has been through it all with MU.
Cords resigning....
Cottingham hired....
Crean leaving...
Buzz hired....
Wild leaving....
Pilarz hired....
Mary D hired....
Cottingham fired....
Larry Williams hired....
Pilarz "resigns"....
Mary D "resigns".....
Larry "resigns".....
The only constant the entire time has been Mike Broeker. He has passed up other jobs to stay at MU even though MU has passed him up. He has the knowledge, he has the experience, and his time has come. Hopefully the powers that be see it that way.

He's also close with Buzz and that is probably most important.

Totally agree. But, will probably have to wait for a new president to come on board. Will take time.

Any of the choices Fr. Wild has cannot wait until other positions are filled. Need to move on all fronts immediately.

Waiting for a new Pres the last time got us Larry Williams. I would trust Fr. Wild to make the choice at this time.

@GoodmanESPN: Wow. Marquette announces athletic director Larry Williams has resigned. My guess is Buzz Williams not shedding a tear on this one.

I agree with your sentiment, but I doubt that Fr. Wild is going to do so. That's why he enlisted Bill Cords...?

They tried to mess with happy.
They should have known better.
Maybe we can view this as "The Return to Happy."

Could be, and that is a good point. I just think the BOT and others do not want a similar mistake. Thus, the timing.
The usual crowd in full attack mode. I think these guys need a hug. It's a Friday night during the Holiday season and they are getting so angry about the MU AD situation. These guys are so miserable that they can never be happy and worry about their own program. Always have to tear everyone else down and assume the worst in every situation, unless it's UW. Then it always makes sense.

On the list of people whose opinions I care about on this matter, the UW fan boards are far down on the list.

Massive insecurities stemming from the fact that their program is still less accomplished than Marquette's, even 15 years into their golden age!

I think it's funny that anytime something happens people go running to the Badger boards to see what they are saying... I don't get it... Then inevitably someone posts there trying to argue with them over there same tiresome points of view. Why don't we just ignore them? Who cares what they think? I'm sure I could tell you what they are saying without even looking.
