In his fourth year, coach Steve Bailey is starting to reap the benefits of his recruiting. Today the Marquette golf team shot a 2 under par 558, something like a 27 shot improvement over last year at the Bethpage Black Course on Long Island. The high score today was a 5 over 75 and that same player came back with a 4 under 66 in the second round.
What's exciting is that Bailey had one other player accompany the team and 5 other quality team members who remained in Milwaukee. Bailey also has 2014 verbal commitments from two of the top 2014 golfers in the state in Trevor Thomas from Stevens Point and Garrett Loomis from River Falls.
