Agree overall, but there is one thing that will generate complaints from those who do not pay attention the same way we do: the home non-conference schedule only has one good (admittedly great) game in Ohio State. Southern, Grambling, New Hampshire, IUPUI, Testicle U and Samford are nothing to write home about. As a season ticket holder, it's sad to see college hoops head the way of football with more quality neutral site games at the expense of quality home and homes. Even with the great overall schedule, alas...

That is what led to Duke not being able to sell 1/2 the student season tickets. Play a great schedule, just not at home.

That doesn't leave a lot of wiggle room, you need some wins.

Samford is now coached by former MU assistant Bennie Seltzer.
Ball State aka "The Nuts" aren't a big time program, but aren't that bad.
IUPUI blew last year, but returns their top 6 scorers.

Good home games are simply hard to get these day. But, the buy games are important for player development...so I enjoy those games from the perspective of seeing how guys play and develop under the bright lights. At least we'll have WI and ASU next year at home.

Yes. And this is what inevitably happens when in-game attendance is no longer as important financially as the television audience.

I can see that, but part of this is just how the schedule broke this year. As Nukem points out, ASU and UW are at home next year. In recent years, there have generally been two or three good home games, as well as some that were at least interesting, like Green Bay. This is just an off-year for home games. It will get better.

Also, the staff tried to get a home and home series with UCLA going that would have started here, but in the end it fell through.

Not sure what the promoter or network pays each team for these games, but I can see where if the money is right these games can be a good idea.

Tough balance. Good home games to sell tickets, neutral site game for exposure and revenue, buy games to make money and add wins, good non conference games but balance home / road, etc.

I'm looking forward to home games versus Southern & Ball State from the MAC. Southern, almost made history in the ncaa tourney. But, yes I wish the home games had more meat on the bone. 2014-15 has Wisconsin and Arizona State, like Nukem2 pointed out!

Well, at least MU has Arizona State and Wisconsin on the home schedule for next season. Hopefully, one more high major will be coming in. Add that to the Orlando Old Spice tournament (Kansas, Michigan State, Marquette, Xavier, Iona plus TBD) and Ohio State on the road in 2014-15 and it makes for a challenging non-conference schedule. We just may get another "10" from Dana O'Neil. Hats off to the coaches and AD Dept.

Just curious, with MU and X now in the same conference will one of those two get moved out? It may have been too late for this year with MU and Creighton, but they have more than a year before this tourney is played.
