I don't think the Cell was choosing between UWM and some other alternative. Something is better than nothing.

UW-M plays DePaul this year at the Cell. I may go, though not if it conflicts with an MU game. I would not even consider going to the Klotsche.

UW-M plays DePaul this year at the Cell. I may go, though not if it conflicts with an MU game. I would not even consider going to the Klotsche.The old MECCA is a great place to watch basketball. My wife and I like it better than the Bradley Center in terms of leg room.

Milwaukee plays De Paul on Nov. 19 & MU host New Hampshire on Nov. 20. No conflict!

Is it? Suspect other events would draw more spending customers than a UW-M game? What other events are out there for the US Cell. It's Disney on Ice, Circus and the Wave.

As for downtown Milwaukee, Major Goolsby's was a big player in UWM basketball as 1130 WISN hosted the post-post gameshow from there.The Panther players and the coaching staff come to Goolsby's as many of the fans come over in filling the place up on many nights. That's about 13 to 15 dates that Major Goolsby's is packed. The Panthers in their last season at the Cell in 2011-12 season did average 4,154 per game for the whole season. So, there is some good dollar to go around in downtown Milwaukee.

Why do they need to move back to the cell?? 100 fans spread out in the cell is going to look ridiculous.

Good move for UWM. If they do want to take advantage of the void Butler left at the top of the Horizon, they need a better dancehall than the Klotsche. That said, still no reason for Marquette to go across the street any time soon. And by soon, I mean ever.
