Depending on who leaves for Marquette this spring (they are projecting Chris Otule) and if someone can handle the point guard position, Marquette has a chance to be really, really good next year. Top 5 good? Maybe.

I was looking at the Wichita State roster for the ages of the players and here are the players who played last night. This is one reason why the so-called Mid-Major schools are making Final Fours.

Hall - 24
Orukpe - 24
Armstead - 23
Wiggins - 22
Lufile - 22
Early - 21
Williams - 21
Baker - 20
White - 20
VanVleet - 19

I would have loved to see a "Projected Starting 5" for MU, like they did for the first four teams. I also would have liked to see Jameel given credit for being ranked #3 among juco players - like they listed Jones #1.

I am somewhat surprised they had Duke ranked that high given that they lose three very productive seniors.

I don't see us as a Top 5 team next year, but who knows? I think we may be Top 10-15 if we can get solid play at the point (which I do expect).

Given near the end of the year we were ranked 12th I believe and made the elite 8 I can definitely see top 10, but top 5 seems lofty, it would be awesome to see though. Really PG is the only question mark next year.

I think we will begin the season in the Top 10 and so am wondering do we at some point in the season, do we achieve the #1 spot in a poll? Would be pretty incredible as it will be the first time in almost 4 decades.

The New Big East has 3 of the top 16 teams. Not bad! It's a drop to the next one, but that is a good start for the new league.

In the what might have been ... the old Big East has 6 of the top 19.

MU will have teams gunning for them this upcoming season. MU is even deeper than this past and only upgrades its shooting and quickness potential. To be able to bang, shoot and run has to put MU with the elites. Practice and the Pro Am ought to be very competitive. IWB may have many full houses this summer with the influx of local kids.
