Lots of missed opportunities so far....

Junior needs to be better with the ball. The first break, got it to Anderson late. Then the bad turnover. Need Jamil to get hot. Sure looked like he was hit on that 3.

Not attacking the zone very well right now. Had opportunities, but Cuse is really moving well. MU needs to start penetrating. More importantly, though, MAKE BETTER PASSES. The only crisp pass was the one from Jamil to Davante, who was 5' away!

I was going to make a comment on that at the half. The NCAA really needs to clean up the after the shot crap. That is where injuries occur, more than when a guy brushes his elbow. But they will NOT call that - not just here, but ever.

Mayo and Jamil were both fouled on their 3 attempts. Badly. No calls. Junior was crushed by Fair, no call. Davante was fouled on his miss, no call. I am not complaining, just pointing it out. MU is not getting the calls right now. Not going their way, need to understand that and not get frustrated. I think at times they were frustrated early about that. Later, though, handled it better.

I agree Ted, and I think that is where it happens for MU. Their offense feeds off of their defense. I thought MU was tentative and had some foul trouble. That half is over, now need to pick up the D. Cuse does turn it over and does take bad shots. MU will take advantage of that.

You know Boeheim will adjust, although, you would have thought the same after the last game. MU needs to see his move and match it. I would play Steve Taylor more. He brings and energy and athleticism.

I think it was Raftery who mentioned MU needing more ball fakes and I think this is key in the second half. Get Carter-Williams, Fair and Triche off their feet and get into the lane.

If they defend that pass with the center, the high low pass should be there. If they deny with a guard, the skip passes will be there. Skip, hit a three, hit the short corner, or feed the high post again.

I agree with this. MU needs Mayo right now. Need all hands on deck. Jamil needs to come out strong in the 2nd half. If he starts hitting it will open up the belly (inside) more. Todd, just as a threat, helped open the middle.

Guys, if Jamil cannot find his shot, and he has had very good looks today, it is going to be tough. Really tough. He needs to get it and get it quickly. The last two were wide open at the top of the key. If he misses, I might bring Mayo back in for him. The ball moves better with Mayo than Jamil.

As I said last game, Junior should NOT have the ball in his hands when the clock is running down. He has been god awful in that. A chance for something ... blown again. This is a frustrating game right now.
