This writer is a difficult read, but some interesting observations are made nonetheless. I love college basketball, but the hyper-focus on the coaches, especially the iconic ones and the sucking up to the same by the Dick Vitales of the world, drives me nuts regardless if the players are in and out quickly - use the time that would be used to suck-up to the coaches to educate the viewers on the new players and their backgrounds. Also, has anyone ever heard an announcer say that a team was not "well coached"?

After reading IWB's game recap including Boeheim's post game weirdo rants, made it more relevant to me.

Every fan base does this, including our own. I learned my lesson with Crean and where I certainly love Buzz and the job he has done, I refuse to think that without him Marquette falls off the face of the earth. To think that one guy is more special, more loyal, a perfect fit at our school, etc, is partially what is ruining college sports.

Coaches are put under so much pressure to win and are loved when winning and hated when losing, it is impossible for them to stick around at one place for a long time. Look at Rick Barnes. Was beloved at Texas and after one season, is feeling the hot seat. Ridiculous.
