Unbelievable story. Yes, let schools pay players and do nothing, while you throw the book at kids like this. The NCAA needs an overhaul.

Good ending. That said, if he was denied, St. John's could still have fulfilled his dream by doing the right thing and granting the kid an academic scholarship to finish his dream of graduating. Ideally, that would be with the hoops waiver too because of his talent. If he was the 12th scholarship, would this have been a cause célèbre for SJU and ESPN?
