Read some of the comments after the articles. There is a huge meltown in the Orange Nation:

How accurate was this scouting report? http://www.syracuse.com/orangebasketball/index.ssf/2013/02/syracuse_basketball_can_expect.html#incart_river
Davante Gardner, No. 54, Junior center, 6-foot-8, 290 pounds, 11.6 ppg, 4.7 rpg: “Gardner’s an excellent low-post scorer. He knows how to use his size to establish position and get his shot off. I think he’s going to give Syracuse’s centers problems even inside the zone. If he gets the ball and commands attention, it will make Syracuse’s zone collapse on him and open up some shots on the perimeter.’’

Huge difference: The 2011 offer would have paid each Big East member $14 million annually. The new deal will pay out $1.8 million annually.

Jim, that $14 million each would have been for football and b-ball right?

You are correct.
I'm confused. $14 million per school, no matter if they have football or not (?!)

Those schools that had both football and b-ball. Obviously football providing the most $'s.
