On Monday Marquette was at #24 in the AP poll and were in the receiving votes section of the coaches poll. As long as they take care of business against DePaul, they should climb....

Monday
#25 Notre Dame lost to #9 Syracuse

Tuesday
#2 Florida lost to Arkansas (ranked too high to impact MU)
#10 Ohio State lost to #3 Michigan (ranked too high to impact MU)

Wednesday
#5 Kansas lost to TCU (ranked too high to impact MU)
#16 Creighton lost to Indiana State
#17 Cincinnati lost to Providence
#18 Minnesota lost to #12 Michigan State

Thursday
#1 Indiana lost to Illinois (ranked too high to impact MU)
#19 Oregon lost to Colorado
#21 Missouri lost to Texas A&M

With more ranked teams playing tough opponents on Saturday & Sunday, MU can certainly move up with a win....

And then the following week, its Georgetown on the road and PITT (10th anniversary of 2003 Final Four Team) at home. If we play with the same 40 minute focus and intensity as we did against South Florida earllier this week, we can win both of those games.

Don't want to get ahead of myself, though. First up, DePaul (Al's Day). They beat Providence and played Cincy, St. Johns and Seton Hall tough on the road this season. Plus, they took ND to OT at home. Melvin and Young are a tough 1-2 combo. Nothing can be taken for granted in the Big East.
