Back in the 70s when MU's schedule could come out, bchip and I would make our predictions for the season, assigning the usual W, L, or ? to each game, and there were maybe only two or three that we gave a ?. At the end of the regular season, we were always within a game or two of being correct.
That is no longer the case. Parity has raised its enormlous head. There are so many decent, solid teams that are capable of knocking off almost any other team on a given night, and there are very, very few teams that are head and shoulders above almost any team they face.
On paper we should have no trouble with USF. But given what's happened within just our conference the past week or two, nothing can be taken for granted. It's not just us, of course.
The nature of the game - in terms of competition - has changed dramatically since the days of Al and Hank, which makes Buzz's accomplishments so far even more noteworthy and impressive.
