Statement by Jodi Majerus and Tracy Dowd on behalf of the Majerus Family:
“We are extremely grateful for the tremendous outpouring of support we have received from so many people following the death of our brother, Rick. We cannot begin to express our sincere gratitude to everyone for their thoughts, prayers and well-wishes during this difficult time for all of us.
“Rick was certainly a public figure with a terrific sense of humor, a competitive spirit and a love of family, especially our Mother, Alyce, his friends, players, fellow coaches and fans. Rick also had a private side to him, and it is in that spirit that our family has decided not to conduct any interviews at this time. Additionally, cameras and photography of any kind will not be allowed inside the church for the funeral mass and we are asking that media outlets and the general public respect the wishes of our family and the Church of the Gesu. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”
