View Full Version : MU vs Southeastern Louisiana - Game thread
Anyone out there?
Some early thoughts.....
On opposite end of court - TV have an angle or replay of what happened to Trent? Eye, nose? Blood?
Interesting that the full court pressure included Juan Anderson in the middle of the court pressuring the PG. Juan is so freaking ling he was giving the guy fits. Hard to get around him, and Juan's athleticism allows him to guard at the top of the key. This kid is just starting to figure it out, could turn out to be the ultimate 6th man.
You knew after MU had issues on the glass against Colgate that they would come out battling for the rebounds, after 5 minutes MU up in rebounds 6-3
Never expected Jamal Ferguson to get in this early in the game, Trent must have been hit pretty good.
2nd game in a row that SAs have presented the ticket holder of the game. I really do like it, but wonder....

Looked like Trent just got hit in the face.
I like Juan knocking down that 3 pointer at the top of the key.
Two games in a row that Juan hit from there.
No question that there has been an obvious physical development in Jamal Ferguson from the time he arrived on campus until now. Much bigger.
Not to belittle a small school, as these guys have low budgets, but Southeastern's jerseys look like the numbers were ironed on.
I don't know if anyone has any interest in following this type of stat, but everytime they come around with media sheets I like to compare the stat line in segments. If there is interest in it I will continue.....

I believe that's the swoopem eagles gesture that Wes was trying to get started. I know Wes was doing it at madness last year.

Correct, lost to Duke 77-73
Steve Taylor has an interesting approach to rebounding on free throws - almost looks like he is preparing for a jujitsu match
Just can 't get shots to fall - missing bunny after bunny - With 6:31 remaining MU shooting 34.8% from field, has to be worse now.

This is truly what concerned me going into the year. Lack of consistent scoring, which is a different challenge than Buzz has faced in previous years.
Honestly I really don't care where I sit on press row, but funny how I was supposed to be in the front row and I sat back a row as the AP photographer had his cameras all over my spot. Didn't bother me at all, I just told him to leave it, but now sitting behind him I see that he has spent most of the game playing word puzzles. Dude, there is a game right in front of you, and you are playing video games? Wow.

Thing is, nobody has been consistent - Juan and Otule are the best at this point with 2-3.

Concerns me that Jamil seems to disappear. I wish he was more assertive down low.
Outscored 11-2 in the final 3:25 of the half? Ouch

For someone up +26 statistically, we are sucking!

Two big problems are showing up for Marquette right now. We dont have a go to scorer, and we arent rebounding from the guard position.

Neither was Norfolk State last year, we beat them by 31 at the BC.
