Interesting Stat On Buzz And NBA Players

In Buzz Williams first 4 years as the head coach at Marquette, he's recruited 3 players who are currently on NBA rosters in Jimmy Butler, Darius Johnson-Odom and Jae Crowder. Other than Calipari and his one and dones, there can't be many D1 coaches who can make this claim. Add in Tyshawn Taylor who Buzz personally recruited and who signed with Marquette initially, that's 4 NBA recruits in his 5 year coaching tenure at Marquette and that doesn't count both Wesley Matthews and Lazar Hayward, who Buzz coached for part of their college careers, although Lazar is looking for a team right now.

That can't hurt recruiting and this is a big reason so many NBA scouts stay a day longer while in Milwaukee to see the Bucks. Nobody can complain about Buzz' ability to identify and develop players.

Great job by Buzz with three guys that were not top 100 type kids coming out of high school. Kudos to the players for working hard as well.

I can only imagine how good MU will be when Buzz starts to land more recruting classes like the one he currently has coming in, based on his ability to get the most out of kids. Look out!
