Here is some trivia to impress your Marquette friends.
Only one major league player, centerfielder Ralph Shinners came out of Marquette University to play in the big show. Shinners was a member of the New York Giants World Series Championship teams in 1922 and 1923 (although he did not play in either series). He also played for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1925.
