Bucks make a good trade, getting Grayson Allen for Sam Merrill and a couple future 2nd round picks.

This adds a 3 point shooter that the Bucks need after losing Forbes.

Horst has assembled some pretty darn good depth on the team.
Portis, Connaughton, Hood, Hill, Ojeleye, Allen, Mamukelashvili, Nwora, Thanasis, to go along with Giannis, Middleton, Holiday, Lopez, DiVincenzo.

The hard part is having to actually cheer for Grayson Allen. That won't be easy.

Just think about what he did to the Badgers in the 2015 NCAA finals. You will think much more fondly of him.

He will always be appreciated for this reason alone.

Nice move by the Bucks. They basically turn Sam Merrill and the #31 pick into Grayson Allen, Sandro Mamukelashvili and Georgios Kalaitzakis. Allen has spent time starting for a playoff team and made some big plays in playoff moments.

I like the trio of DiVincenzo, Connaughton and now Allen. All three are about 6'5", athletic, and can shoot it. Provides some depth and flexibility if DiVincenzo needs time to return from injury. At times in the playoffs, the Bucks only felt comfortable going 7 deep. Allen is a guy you can play in the playoffs and not feel like he is a liability (i.e. Jeff Teague).

The Athletic highlights Grayson Allen's value, and the Bucks didn't have to give up a significant piece to get him:

Last season, Allen started 38 games for the Grizzlies and put up 10.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 25.2 minutes per game. Over the last two seasons, Allen, 25, attempted 415 3-pointers (4.7 per game) and made 39.5 percent of them. With both accuracy and volume, Allen will be a threat from the outside and a valuable floor spacer when sharing the floor with Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. While his antics on the floor have regularly drawn the ire of opponents and opposing fan bases, Allen has the athleticism needed to capably defend both guard spots at 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds.

Allen started almost half the season for a Western Conference playoff team in the Grizzlies. He played for Taylor Jenkins, one of Budenholzer’s former assistants who implemented many of Budenholzer’s principles in Memphis. Allen even had a couple of notable postseason performances, first hitting two clutch 3-pointers in overtime of the Western Conference Play-In game against the Warriors and then scoring 17 points (5-of-8 shooting from 3) in Game 3 against the Jazz.
