Vin Baker Jr. Set To Join Milwaukee Roster

MILWAUKEE (Sept. 4, 2019) – Men's basketball head coach Pat Baldwin officially announced today that Vin Baker Jr. has transferred into the program and will play his final two seasons for the Milwaukee Panthers.

"We are extremely excited to add Vin, Jr. to the Panther family," Baldwin said. "Vin brings excellent length, athleticism, and perimeter shooting to our wing position and will get stronger in our strength and development program. Vin has great character and will bring a great amount of leadership and maturity to our program."

Baker Jr. comes to Milwaukee following two years at Boston College. The 6-foot-9 guard/forward will sit out this upcoming season due to NCAA transfer regulations.

He appeared in 41 games over his two campaigns at BC, scoring 70 points and grabbing 39 rebounds. He connected on 63.6 percent of his shot attempts from inside the arc and sank 85.7 percent of his free throws. Baker Jr. saw action in 29 games his freshman campaign, scoring a career-high 11 points in a victory at Pittsburgh.

Ranked as the 26th-best player in the state of Connecticut by MaxPreps.com coming out of high school, he averaged 16.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game as a senior at Hamden Hall County Day School. He was selected as a member of the Second Team All-NEPSAC (New England Prep School) and is the son of Vin Baker.

His father played 13 seasons in the NBA, was a four-time all-star, and is currently on the coaching staff of the Milwaukee Bucks.
