Interesting call on the "no goaltending"... they are using European rule there, once it hits the rim its fair game.

Not a bad way to end a half.

Jim, you would know better than anybody probably. Where do they find players, the non-MU ones? I know one of them was from Oregon and I wonder if he had any connection with Jamil when he was there. Others seem to be local Milwaukee players. But some have no visible connection. Where do they look and who do they look for?

No - both local guys, Elgin Cook who played at Oregon is from Milwaukee Hamilton (not Sussex Hamilton like Patrick Reed says) and Cinmeon Bowers who played at Oregon went to Rufus King. Both have played in the Pro-Am and most Milwaukee basketball people know who they are so those were easy.

Next is Willie Atwood - Stan Johnson recruited and coached him at Arizona State.

Finally you ha Brett Prahl from East Troy who had a solid senior season at UWM.

The biggest reason for adding those guys is that they got killed by Jared Sullinger last year. They knew their guards could beat anyone, they needed size and defense and tried to get any former MU bigs, Otule, Fischer, Ouse - anyone, but couldn't get them.

Conversation with my son...

Pants: "Why does Travis Diener look like a player that they just picked up off the street?"

IWB: "Because Travis Diener has always looked like a guy they just picked up off the street."

Jim, if they decide to add players, how do they go about it? Any ideas who they might be looking at?

One more question. Due to scheduling, the team has a month off almost. Jamil mentioned that he is starting to work out with teams. I am sure other players are looking forward to next season, or their agents are How much practicing and scouting do you think they are going to be able to get in before their next games?

Thanks. Since this game was all that was going on today, it's all Marquette highlights.

Was off line all yesterday after game.

UJ - Marquette started a couple of weeks early. They wanted MU to host games, but this past weekend was the only way they could do it, so they played early. It will be tough having the weeks off, especially with potential roster adjustments, but they can do it. I believe they are going to take 10 days off and then regroup for practices.
