Torrey Ball Named Assistant AD For Marketing & Fan Engagement
Former Syracuse football player joins MU after stints at Nebraska and Oregon

Milwaukee – Torrey Ball has joined Marquette University as the Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing & Fan Engagement, Deputy Athletics Director Brian Hardin announced Tuesday.

The Athens, Georgia, native arrives in Milwaukee after most recently serving as Director of Marketing and Student Engagement at the University of Nebraska.

With the Cornhuskers, Ball was the in-game producer for football games and directed the game atmosphere, fan giveaways, promotions and videoboard operations at Memorial Stadium.* In addition to his role at football games, Ball led all student initiatives, including all email and on-campus advertising, and was the advisor for Nebraska’s student fan group, The Iron N.

“Torrey displayed contagious enthusiasm during the interview process and his creative nature will be a great addition for our department,” said Hardin.* “His successful history of working with student groups and developing exciting game atmospheres will really benefit us moving forward.”

Ball arrived at Nebraska in 2014 and served as Assistant Director of Marketing & Fan Experience where he was responsible for all marketing efforts for women’s basketball, wrestling, softball, swimming and diving, as well as the football pre-game student pep rally.

Prior to Nebraska, Ball was Marketing Assistant at the University of Oregon and was hired by Craig Pintens, former Associate Athletics Director of Marketing and Sales at Marquette.

“Torrey has been a member of two great marketing staffs at Oregon and Nebraska, and the senior administrators at both schools had glowing recommendations of him,” Hardin said.* “We look forward to the contributions Torrey will provide that will make our department stronger.”

Ball played defensive end on the Syracuse University football team and was a team captain for the Orange. He earned both his bachelor’s degree in communications and rhetorical studies and then a master’s degree in new media management from Syracuse.
