MU will get NCAA tourney again March 18 & 20 in 2022 at the Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center.

That will be a Friday-Sunday.

I take it this is the first weekend games. Does anyone know if we request first weekend games, or if we don't have a big enough venue for second weekend games?

I've heard they would rather have 1st & 2nd round games, to have 8 different fan bases to spend their money in Milwaukee.

I KNOW for a fact that MU/Panther is correct. MU wants more bang for the buck... 8 teams/ 4 days of games...

Looking at the regional sites through 2021, I suspect you both are correct. BTW, Creighton will host a regional in 2018.

Size of the venue is not the issue.

Is it too early for me to make some predictions?

Emptiness - Let's fix it with the Pod system!

2019: On TV the 1st & 2nd round games in Salt Lake City Utah will look completely empty.

2020: On TV the 1st & 2nd round games in Spokane Washington will look completely empty. Unless....
Prediction #2, Gonzaga will play at home. This is an odd one. Gonzaga, a fine Jesuit university, is located in Spokane but the event will be hosted by Idaho, which oddly is 1 1/2 hours away. Even Washington State is closer. This is being held in the Spokane Arena, not where Gonzaga plays. Hmm... Maybe Gonzaga got Idaho to host it so they could get the home game?

2021: On TV the 1st & 2nd round games in Boise Idaho will look completely empty.

Let's protect our boys - Why don't we let the best play at home?

2020: Greensboro, NC - Either Duke or UNC will play here. Did you know? The first and second-round men’s basketball games in Greensboro in 2020 will mark the first time since 2012 that tournament games will have been played in that venue. Greensboro Coliseum has hosted 63 NCAA men’s tournament games, which is fifth-most in tournament history.

2021: Raleigh, NC - Either Duke or UNC will play here.

2022: Greenville, SC - Either Duke or UNC will play here.

Those are just my early projections.

Salt Lake City looked pretty filled. San Jose for a regional final had many empty upper deck seats.

Size of a arena for a regional has been over-hyped. Kohl Center hosted a regional before.

Two days of games, not 4.
How much does MU actually make? Just curious?

Maybe not games on 4 days, but 4 days of activities.
