The Women's team upset DePaul for the third time this season and improved their record to 6-0 against ranked teams on the season. The final was 86-78. Some great highlights, Natisha Hiedeman hit a buzzer-beating three from around half-court to end the first quarter, Allazia Blockton made a ton of huge contested shots, and Amani Wilborn was money off the bench. Hiedeman was all-tournament, Wilborn was MOP of the tournament. Marquette will be in the NCAA Tournament. Congrats, ladies!

I hope this team gets seeded a bit better than some are saying. Seem to think they are worthy of a 6 seed based on their resume. BE isn't as strong on the womens side so that does hurt them a bit. Still went 4-2 against DU and CU, two teams ranked much of the year.
Watched every second of that game last night and was very impressed. The way they move the ball up and down the court leads to some exciting hoops, but the shooting? Are you kidding me?
Marquette 50% from the field (29-58) and 50% from three (9-18).
DePaul 42% from the field (29-69) and 50% from three (13-26).
That is some crazy shooting percentages. Two teams combined were 50% from three? (22-44) Are you kidding me?
That was a great game.

Very fun team to watch - sounded really loud. I was getting nervous when DePaul got it down to 5 - flashbacks to the men's team.

I went to the 3pm game on Monday, with about 1,300 in the building. Crowd for Creighton and of course Marquette was very loud. The Al can rock.

I watched about half of the game (first time I watched a women's game at any level in 30 years) and came away impressed. They play a fun style and have some talent. They need to develop some depth however if they want to get to the next level. Are none of their Freshmen this year highly touted?

(first time I watched a women's game at any level in 30 years) That blows my mind away.
