Some good matchups today. Xavier @ Baylor could be the best. Some good games outside the Big East as well. UCLA @ Kentucky (11:30am) and Gonzaga @ Arizona (4:30pm).

Flipping between Nova, Kentucky and Badger games. Kohl Hole is nowhere near the environment of the other two. Place is absolutely dead at times.

With Kentucky's loss...Nova will be #1 on Monday.

Villanova beats St. Joseph's 88-57. Will be #1 on Monday after UCLA won at Kentucky. Good luck Villanova in your FCS playoff game versus South Dakota State.

Flipping between Nova, Kentucky and Badger games. Kohl Hole is nowhere near the environment of the other two. Place is absolutely dead at times. No band at the Kohl Center. Just like MU's win in 2011 at the Kohl Center.

X is falling fast as it cannot match Baylor's zone and length.

Baylor beats Xavier 76-61. Tough to win when you don't make a shot for over 9 minutes.

Butler up 69-49 on Central Arkansas in the 2nd half.

Rhode Island up 35-29 on Providence at halftime on FSN overflow channel in Wisconsin.

Big win for Providence. Used an 11-2 run to take the lead and held on to upset #21 Rhode Island 63-60. Friars looked good. Cartwright is the next in a succession of productive point guards for Cooley.

Great crowd, in a great rivalry that most don't even know nothing about it.

...and seemingly 90% of them bunnies - looked very good out of the gates though.

They had a lot of tough shots in 2nd half fro very deep.

X is falling fast as it cannot match Baylor's zone and length.

Rashid Gaston is solid and Tyrique Jones is a true freshman and will improve over time....but clearly a step down in the post from veterans James Farr and Jalen Reynolds of last season. X also could use the return of Myles Davis.

Yup, is what it is. X not what it was last year.

The length and shot blocking ability of Acuil influenced Xavier throughout the game, even on the open shots. I like what Jones can become, but he's a year or two year away from anywhere near the presence of Farr and Reynolds. Also, for as awesome as their 2017 class is, it lacks an impact big to complement the talented perimeter players.

There have been warning signs around Xavier all season. Struggling with Lehigh and Missouri, minimal post presence, shoddy long range shooting. They're still a tourney team, but looking at them, I think they're more likely 4th in the league than 2nd. If anyone I the top-4 is vulnerable, it's Xavier. Really too bad we see Villanova twice in January and don't see X until February 18. I'd love to get X early.
