That would be a big loss for MU

I'm surprised it has taken this long, it wouldn't be good for MU, but he deserves the opportunity.

Agreed - super nice guy. He went to Siena - noticed the Siena guy in the running - would he jump at that if the if the Siena guy got the job? Siena is not far from Syracuse where he grew up as well.

Strong competition for that job. One edge Broeker has is his work within the BIG EAST conference--particularly his leadership when the current group was formed. he is a cutting edge guy with strong MU roots. It would be personally disappointing if he were to leave but also a significant loss to MU Athletics and the University as a whole. Perhaps Mike Lovell recognizes his value and makes it more difficult for him to leave.

If he really wants to be an AD, then no amount of cash from Lovell will make a difference.

I'm shocked he has been at MU this long after Buzz and company left.

He has been the stabilizing force within the Athletic Dept since Buzz's last season. For that, and what he has done the past 4 years, if he gets it you can't help but wish him well.

He was also a main player reforming the Big East.

Two finalists for the St. John's AD job: Hartford AD Anton Goff and Wisconsin-GB AD Mary Ellen Gillespie, per source.

Broeker is far better and more experienced than either of them. Leads me to believe he walked away. Looked at both of their on line CVs and they do not come close to Broeker. BTW Zagoria might have got this wrong when he earlier reported the four finalists. He did not have Mary Ellen Gillespie or Anton Goff in that group of finalists. Might be the St. John's job sucks? Zagoria's Final Four were Broeker, Terry Gawlik (Wisconsin), Rick Cole (Iona) and John Argenio (Siena). Was Zagoria wrong or is St. John's a complete dumpster fire?

Doesn't hurt to be a minority in these situations.

Post I saw on one of the St. John's sites: Why can't they pay as much for an AD as one of the assistant basketball coaches? Answers a lot of questions.

Especially in NYC. Yikes.

Would you want to be the Deputy AD at Marquette where Wojo reports to Bill Scholl or would you rather be the AD at a St. John's where the AD reports to Chris Mullin?

This is a problem for SJU

A lot of people in the Green Bay program would be ecstatic if Gillespie got the job and left GB.
