Notice the trend with recruiting this year? Tough hard nosed guys who can play defense. I think Wojo hasn't been happy with the defensive results the last two seasons.
Congrats to Wojo and of course to Cain.

Yes. Exactly. French or Tillman would round out a VERY nice class.

I love getting guys who are a bit tougher and grittier... That's what I loved about the MU teams from the Crean and Buzz era, they played hard and were incredibly tough...

And I think it is an element that Wojo realized had been missing.

Cain also has some nice skill, hitting 58% of his twos, 37% of his threes (on 3.7 attempts per game), and 76% of his free throws. Once he fills out, he is a little bigger wing then a couple of the players (Johnson, Reinhardt) he will be replacing on the roster.

Yep he is a tougher guy but can also shoot.
I saw one of the recruiting experts suggest that he could fit as a big wing or even a stretch 4. He is obviously going to have to put on weight and muscle to fit in at the 4 but it's good to have that kind of versatility.

Huge pickup for Marquette. One of the fastest rising players in the entire 2017 class. Jumped 82 slots in most recent 247 Sports composite.
Four-star prospect on most sites.

Great pickup! He has an outstanding shot, great timing around and an excellent vertical leap. All hail the entire coaching staff for getting Jamal Cain to commit! The Warrior Nation appreciates all the staff's hard work!
Special shout out to Stan Johnson.
Xavier Tillman visits Friday!!

This class is falling into place very nicely lets lock down Tillman and focus our attention on young Mr. Hauser

Fantastic thread here from the Michigan perspective on Cains recruitment. One of the guys obviously knows him very well.

Matt D obviously knows Jamal, and seems to be pretty dialed in on the Miichigan HS recruiting scene, so i found this comment interesting...
Probably not done either. I think Xavier Tillman lands there, and they most likely will have a better class than UM. Sort of crazy to think that, but it appears to be true. Recruiting matters so much in modern basketball.

Nice pickup MU!! Love Cain's size. Can we get D Wade and Jimmy Butler to come up from Chicago next weekend? Jabari Parker, Miles Plumlee and Novak as well? Will be tough to beat out Michigan State, but I am confident Wojo and staff will leave no stone unturned. Go MU!

I log on to another commitment? Hmm...maybe I should stay in Alaska another week or so.

Tillman mom definitely gives a lot of insights on the recruitment. Will have an inside look to our staffs process if her coverage of this weekends MSU Official Visit is any indication.
Also retweeted a lot of Cain commitment things, so wonder how big of a connection they have and if that factors in at all

Get busy with college football Saturday and figure there would be no hoops news. Bang, excellent Sunday news!

If MU lands Tillman, does MU potentially land in the top 20 for this recruiting class? Just outside of the top 10 even?

Think they are there already in some services.

I think top 20-25 sounds about right. MU will be full and other schools will land higher rated recruits and most likely move ahead.
The big thing is MU filled needs with players they targeted early.
