NBA draft by conference

Kind of interesting and obviously not as meaningful after realignment.

Important for the Big East to keep getting lottery picks and decent numbers of overall draft choices for recruiting purposes. With 10 teams we are at an obvious disadvantage compared to ACC and the Big 10.

Ellenson may not fall this far on draft night—Toronto, Milwaukee, Denver, and Phoenix will all be tempted—but if he does, it's hard to imagine he slips past Detroit. He's a perfect stretch–four for Stan Van Gundy, with the potential to play next to Andre Drummond or come off the bench as a stretch–five while Drummond sits. His defense will be a work in progress, but this low in the draft, his size and skill would be a steal.

They must really be concerned about his athleticism.Henry has not shown much in the way of lateral quickness on defense nor has he shown much in his vertical game whether how high or how quick he can jump. Saw one write-up saying he has "heavy legs"; though, he runs the court well from what we've all seen. Hopefully his height, wingspan and his array of obvious offensive skills will be attractive to lottery teams. Good luck tonight Henry!

Henry Ellenson, 6'11" freshman forward, Marquette: "He's a woeful athlete, but he's a cocky guy. He can play in the low post. Just not real explosive. He shot 28.8% from the college three, but he shot 74.9% from the line, so his stroke's gonna be O.K. I think he's going to be really good. He's an uncommon big because of his ballhandling skills. He's like [retired NBA player] Mehmet Okur, a center who can stretch the floor."

Heavy legs is what I have been saying all along. Look at guys like Dwight Howard - he's huge, right? But that's just his arms and shoulders - his legs are thin. Guys with big heavy legs don't last long in NBA.

Henry runs the court very well - but that is a 33 game college schedule with 2 games per week. NBA is an 82 game schedule with games damn near every night. Big difference.
