...and especially considering some of the smaller venues that Nova and SJU sometimes play in and X capacity is only around 10 grand or so and then there is that DePaul thing...
Would like the MU baseline standard to be above 15,000 though.

DePaul and St. John's are killing us. If they can get up to the 8-10k range the conference would be ahead of the Big 12.

I wonder if coming of a national title season, will Nova play a few more games at the Wells Fargo Center?
They played most home games last year at the Pavilion which is pretty small. It looks like they only played 2 games at the Wells Fargo Center.
A few more games at the NBA facility might be nice for attendance purposes.
If Mullin and St. John's gets it rolling, I would think they will play a few more games at MSG.

So CU and MU played 3 more home games than X and Nova for example? Did X and Nova play in more neutral court, tournament settings? I always thought 18 was kind of the sweet spot for most teams.

I'm sure it will increase with Wells Fargo not being a tournament site. They won't limit themselves to less than 3 next year.

Georgetown is the most disappointing. With all the wealthy alumni (undergrad, grad school and law school) living in the DMV (District, MD, and VA if you're wondering), there is no excuse for attendance to be so low.

Seton Hall isn't much better. They play in a huge arena and were an NCAA team last year.

Spoke to a Georgetown alum recently from the V part of the DMV. Not sure if this is true of all alum, but it seemed the sentiment is JT3 is not the right coach, but that won't change while the old man is still around, and while they are building a new facility bearing his name. Kind of like we know we need to make a change, but we won't so there is a lack of excitement.
DCwarrior - is this the take you get out there as well?

I think it's a multitude of factors. It's difficult for students to get to games at the Verizon Center; basketball just isn't all that important for many of the types of students who attend G'town and alumni who attended; traffic and parking are brutal in the area so getting to games from VA, MD and even DC are difficult; and if you think the JS and local media ignore Marquette you should see how little press G'town gets in this area.

Correct. Villanova played mostly all of their games at the Pavilion so that they would be eligible to be placed in the East Regional (Wells Fargo in Philly). Funny, UNC was placed there, the team Villanova beat to win it all.

I would guess that Villanova will be playing seven games at Well Fargo Arena in 2016-17.

Shocking that the SEC is 2nd. Take out Kentucky and even to a bit Tennessee what do you really have.

Look how far Missouri has fallen. They got close to 15,000 per game in conference games in the Big 12 and would average 12,000 for the entire season.
Glad to see it as I still hate some of the crap Missouri pulled. Their last year they won the Big XII tourney title, got their t-shirts, cut down the nets and then came out of the locker room with their trophy, all sporting SEC t-shirts.
You are leaving? Fine, leave with class, but to leave the Big XII tourney wearing SEC shirts - classless.
Also, prior to their last season in the Big XII they had the floor of their practice facility re-done. Like The AL, it was an exact replica of their game court, except it had SEC logos where the Bog XII logos should be.

I could maybe see if it was the football team celebrating going to the SEC although still would be classless, but IMO the SEC is a step down from the Big 12 as a b-ball conference. I too feel no pity for their recent troubles.

I will just say I don't think that program has been the cleanest in the NCAA either.

Missouri's athletic department and the school in general are in a HUGE decline. I wonder if the SEC wishes to have a do-over on inviting them.
