Fischer must say something mean about the refs at the opening tip every game. I like the ball movement early on. Their shot blockers make good plays look ugly.
The stream is very good. Lappas wishes he was Vitale.

Henry has been passing the ball to the PG after rebounds today.

Is Chris Mullin a Bobby knight disciple?? I don't understand why they don't go zone against us.

Yep, pretty obvious someone said something to him.

Henry has 10 rebounds already. Traci with way too much dribbling.

Sandy having another rough game. Duane is keeping us in this.

Henry's rebounding and defense is also keeping us in it.
I still have to strongly disagree with those who think Luke is a better player than Henry.

Definitely agree. Henry is rebounding with authority. Had a lapse of dumb turnovers and fouls, but the lead is nice.

In all seriousness does anyone know why Mullin refuses to play zone against us?

Agreed. However, after DePaul, any lead is nice.

I stepped away for a few mins. What happened that the lead is cut in half?

Sloppy play with an odd lineup after resting Henry, Haanif and Duane. Now it is snowballing. Refs are giving SJU free rein on the press.

Really having trouble with the press.

Why? It's not like we are making the tourney

Having Henry inbound against the press sure helps.

Steve Lappas was 100% correct on Marquette problems.

It took way too long, but got to credit Wojo for finally adjusting to the press and putting Henry on the inbounds. Destroyed St. John's in the half court, but our laziness with turnovers and awful execution against the press made this a competitive game. On the whole, Henry easily played the best game of his Marquette career today, with only two threes and very few bad shots (and he got SCREWED on that awful charge call). He played like a 6-11 big man today, not a wannabe shooting guard.

HE not blocking out many times in troubling. Overall he did play pretty well.

A road win is a road win, not pretty but learn and move on.
Speaking of fouls, Yakwe should have been called for TWO taunting calls in the first half. He blocked JJ on one lay up, after the block moved forward and stood over him and looked down, very blantant, then a few minutes later, think is was JJ again on a drive and attempted dunk that was blocked, he stopped running back on O and you could see he was saying something to JJ as he ran past. Basically turned around to taunt him.

Henry did inbound the ball against the press most of the game actually. With about 14 or 13 minutes left, for whatever reason, Sandy was in bounding the ball and Henry was deep and this is when we had all the problems and SJ got back in the game. When Sandy was inbounding, it was as if he didn't know he could run the baseline and that led to some bad angles and bad passes.

We won't be good again until our guard play improves.....hopefully it is just inexperience but our horrible decision maki,g and lack of poise is really hard to watch. Hard to believe you can win a game with 2 made 3s.
Luke with 2 bad offensive fouls(both deserved) in the first half along with a couple of traveling turnovers thrown in for good measure. Duane shot it well but has 2 inexplicable carrying turnovers. Henry with huge numbers but fails to block out on numerous occasions including on a missed free throw.
Zero offensive rebounds in the first half?
Again maybe it is just because we are so young but to almost blow a 20 point 2nd half lead to a bad St. John's team is not a good look.

Even when the team wins, it feels like they lost.
