Seriously, are student back yet?
Still filing in, but section behind band is empty, zero in upper deck.
With 2 on Luke, this has to be the earliest Matt Heldt has, and will enter a game this year.
official Joe Lindsay sure likes putting on a show, doesn't he? Can't stand theatrical officials.
Ok, we aren't even 1/2 way through first half, and Matt Heldt is blocking shots and Sacar Anim is draining threes?
Where am I?
Midway through the first half and these officials have already called 14 fouls. average that out to a whole game and its enough to foul out 11 players.

Luke in foul trouble early again. Rebounding is tough enough for this team.

I think after the Sacar and Heldt plays they got so excited they started playing too fast and got sloppy
Students have finally filled the lower bowl and are now starting to show some signs of upper deck attendance.
At the 7:29 mark...
MU only has 3 turnovers. Not perfect, but getting better.
MU getting beat on the boards 16-8.
At the 3:24 mark...
MU now up to 5 turnovers, need to keep it under double digits!!
MU losing rebounding battle 19-12
MU shooting 38% from floor, only shooting 30% from 3pt.
DePaul with 8 second chance points, MU only 2.

So sloppy.....getting killed on the offensive glass

MU just can't find anything to hang there hat on offensively.

Ugly
What a way to end a half - miss a bunny then give up a 3pt.

This just looks like an incredibly fragile team. Trying to get the perfect shot....no offensive rebounds for easy points....no fast break points......

DePaul is grabbing 55% of their misses.......
MU needs to pump the ball into the paint in the second half - don't care if Matt Heldt is in, you still need to feed the post. Heldt has been open on numerous occasions - feed him the ball.

Sandy with another bad game

Not getting anything from Carter, Sandy, Luke and Cheatham.
Missing too many easy shots, giving up too many layups. Garrett made the same move twice in a row, both times resulting in a less than full effort layup. Seriously, when I guy is 'jogging in for a layup', how can no one step in and cut him off?
MU being outrebounded 29-19

JJ making good decisions tonight and one of the few guys rebounding

And now the turnovers
The contact down low continues to be brutal, while touch fouls are called on the perimeter constantly.
After the last game people blasted Duane Wilson, tonight they are loving him here at the BC.

So I guess we don't have to talk about the NCAA tournament anymore.....
Too bad for Duane.....he had a hell of a game

He can't do it alone... Just like in previous nights Luke, and Henry can't do it alone... These guys aren't consistent and are all showing up on different nights.

I think HE needs to stop trying to be a guard.

I was happy that Sacar got some minutes(even if it was out of necessity) and made a 3. Almost air balled the front end of a. 1and 1 though.

Yeah, they were really hammering Henry and Luke.....went with smaller guys down the stretch and they were in the armpits of HE and LF. And watching physical play in the post is a point of emphasis again this year for the refs. Guess they did not read the memo. Ugh.

Students have finally filled the lower bowl and are now starting to show some signs of upper deck attendance.Went outside at halftime for my smoke and mostly all girl students were coming in. Had to be about 50. Other than wearing MU gear, my guess is that they don't care about the game.
That student section was about 25% full in the upper deck part. Don't understand why so many show up so late.

I came in with about 15 minutes to go in the game since my flight from Houston was late, and there were students leaving then. Seeing the score as I arrived and the ugly play, I guess I kind of understand why. Kind of.

There is not a lot of buzz around campus from students about the team and last night's game will kill what little bit there was. Coming off of the poor performance against X didn't help either.
The place got loud when MU tied it up at 40, again when they went ahead 46-45 and when Duane hit the shot to put us ahead with 8 seconds to go. The support is there, the team just isn't winning right now and that dampens any positive thoughts from the students.

Well, we are in class 3 now at MU, that will not see their team in the big dance.

I missed last night but this feels familiar. Anyone blaming the fans should look closer at the fan inspiration. You want more inspired fans, inspire them. Fault is not on the fan base.

I was looking at the 2013-2014 MU Basketball "yearbook." Specifically Top 10 attendances at the Bradley Center. 1/26/2008 against DePaul the attendance was 19,037.....hard to believe right?? That season was the junior years of the 3 amigos and coming off 2 straight NCAA tourney appearances. DePaul was still DePaul. The BC is one of the largest venues in college basketball, weeknight games when the team is at a low point (coming off a horrible season) will not look good....but still would be a sellout in many college venues.
